GETTING STARTED WITH WARRIORS ESKRIMA
How Do I Get Started?
Your first step is to contact Guro Dion Trigg. He will firstly welcome your interest in Warriors Eskrima and then arrange a time for you to meet with him. When you meet you will be introduced to the Filipino Martial Art of Eskrima. You will learn how its study & practice will be of great benefit to you and how Warriors Eskrima can help train you both physically and mentally for your self-protection. Teaching you vital skills necessary to protect yourself or to escape from an attacker. Giving you the confidence to fight back if necessary and building an inner strength and power that you can call upon when needed. Guro Dion will discuss with you any requirements and expectations you may have.
If you are serious about learning Warriors Eskrima and have been invited by Guro Dion to join the team, you will be invited to attend one of the Worcestershire clubs. There you will be welcomed into the club by your fellow students (Eskrimadors) and will start your training.
If however you do not wish to join one of the clubs available or are un-able to attend those training times, you will be given the opportunity to train privately one to one or as part of a small group lesson.
Warriors Eskrima Worcestershire operates a Non drop in policy at its clubs. This is to keep standards of training high & consistent for all students and to prevent people from joining who have negative motives for wanting to learn Eskrima!

What do I need to start training?
To start you will need to have comfortable clothing for training. A plain T-shirt and black or dark blue jogging bottoms are required. Guro Dion will initially provide training equipment. As you continue your training and wish to train more in your own time as well as at the club, you will have the opportunity to buy training weapons (training sticks, training knives and weapons bags) from the Institute of Filipino Martial Arts through your club. The Club Uniform will be available to buy once you are registered and have become a member of the Institute Of Filipino Martial Arts.
