Katulong Guro Lucy Studd

After years of hard and dedicated training, Lucy has successfully achieved the level of Apprentice Instructor in the Warriors Eskrima system. Her enthusiastic, highly driven character and caring manner is a great asset when instructing Worcestershire students. With Lucy's passion and focus for the Warriors Eskrima system, she will really help to guide and motivate students, enabling them to achieve their training goals and develop their skills.

Having studied and looked into other martial arts, Lucy felt they did not offer the real-life application she desired when taking into account her height and size. In 2004 Dion recommended that Lucy begin training in the Warriors Eskrima system, expressing the importance of Martial Arts training for young women more so than ever in the world today. Lucy began her journey as a Warriors Eskrima student and committed herself to her training, consistently attending twice weekly classes and all training seminars and events. In addition Lucy received weekly training on a one to one basis with Guro Dion and in January 2007 Lucy travelled to the Philippines for 100 hours training with Grand Master Abner Pasa.

Martial arts can be seen as a very male dominated area.  Lucy is another good role model and a great inspiration for females thinking of taking up Martial Arts.

Lucy shares the view of Dion and Michelle in encouraging girls to study a highly effective form of Self Defence as this is an invaluable life skill that all young women would greatly benefit from having. Aged 20 and studying at Birmingham University, Lucy feels that Warriors Eskrima is a great opportunity for young women to learn and train the necessary skills to develop an increased self confidence and greatly improve the ability to defend oneself in the event of an attack. It is important to consider that when embarking on a new lifestyle, whether it be travelling abroad or moving cities for a new job or higher education, one should seriously think of the importance of attending regular Self Defence training. Warriors Eskrima will be taught to you in a highly practical way allowing you to successfully study the art whilst still continuing to highly achieve academically. Guro Lucy is a great example of this and will help anybody who wishes to learn how to effectively protect themselves and to achieve success in the Warriors Eskrima system.
